ইংরেজি শেখার সময় শিক্ষার্থীরা সবচেয়ে বেশি ভুল করে Verb এর সঠিক রূপ বাছাই করতে গিয়ে। একটি বাক্যে verb ভুল হলে বাক্যের অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ বদলে যায়। যেমন – He go to school (ভুল), আর He goes to school (সঠিক)। তাই Right Form of Verb আয়ত্ত করা খুবই জরুরি।
Verb এর সংজ্ঞা
Verb হলো এমন শব্দ যা কোনো কাজ, অবস্থা বা অভ্যাস প্রকাশ করে। উদাহরণ: eat, run, write, read, be, have। Verb ছাড়া কোনো বাক্য সম্পূর্ণ হয় না। তাই Verb কে বলা হয় বাক্যের প্রাণ।
Right Form of Verb এর সংজ্ঞা
Right Form of Verb মানে হলো বাক্যে সঠিক সময়ে, সঠিক subject অনুযায়ী, সঠিক voice বা mood অনুযায়ী verb এর সঠিক রূপ ব্যবহার করা।
- She writes a letter. (present)
- She wrote a letter. (past)
- A letter was written by her. (passive)

Verb এর গঠন (Structure in Sentences)
১) Subject–Verb Agreement
Subject singular হলে verb এ s/es যোগ করতে হয়। Plural হলে base form থাকে।
He plays football.
They play football.
২) Tense অনুযায়ী Verb

Present → V1 বা V1+s/es

Past → V2

Perfect → Have/Has/Had + V3
I eat rice every day. (present)
I ate rice yesterday. (past)
I have eaten rice already. (perfect)
৩) Auxiliary Verb
Auxiliary verb মূল verb কে সাহায্য করে।
He is playing cricket now.
They have finished homework.
৪) Passive Voice
Passive voice এ verb সবসময় V3 হয়।
Active: He writes a letter.
Passive: A letter is written by him.
৫) Modal Verb
Modal verb (can, may, must, should) এর পরে base form হয়।
He can sing well.
We must go now.
৬) Preposition এর পরে Verb
Preposition এর পরে verb সবসময় ing form হয়।
She is good at dancing.
I am interested in reading.
৭) Infinitive
Infinitive হয় to + verb।
I want to eat rice.
He likes to play cricket.

- ❌ He go to school. ✅ He goes to school.
- ❌ They has done it. ✅ They have done it.
- ❌ She can sings well. ✅ She can sing well.
সহজ কৌশল
- Subject ও verb একসাথে মেলাও।
- Tense অনুযায়ী verb এর রূপ বেছে নাও।
- Passive voice এ সবসময় V3 ব্যবহার করো।
- Modal এর পরে base form হবে।
- Preposition এর পরে verb = ing form।
- Enjoy, Suggest, Finish ইত্যাদির পরে verb = ing form।
